A small frame figure across the room is suffering from an attack of laughter suddenly. Target is a petite girl of height around 5 feet 3 inches. She seems to be having the best time of her life with her friends, laughing continuously as I’m typing right now. Her eyes forming into a straight line, unable to open wide as laughter fills her up. Her mouth’s open widely with her hands trying to cover them, a visible attempt failed. The surrounding seems peaceful before that, thus her sudden uproar of laughter sets the room’s audience into a frenzy of “What the hell is this girl laughing so crazily at?”
I turned my head away immediately as the laughter virus is reaching me now- staring at someone laughing really badly for too long will become contagious. The next moment, bursts of laughter are erupting from me. I just became the target of audience in the room all of a sudden. My clique stares at me, wondering what in the world am I doing? I simply replied, “I’m People-watching. And hence, IGNORE ME.”

Spotted, a teenage guy around my age in the backseat of the bus 52. Seems cute, dressed very well indeed. His hair dyed dark brown looks very familiar as his chiseled face resembles a model from somewhere. I slowly drift into my pure fantasy of hot models. Ooh. “Dang!”, the bus jerked me back to reality. “Shit.” I thought. The guy must have seen me staring at him. What to do?? I’m People-Watching man! He must be thinking this girl opposite him is interested in him or something, due to my top-to-bottom scan at him while I typed down on my macbook the detailed descriptions. “All right, I’d better look away. He looks offended”, i thought. Closing down on the seats in front of him, sat two ladies. Middle-aged, black hair, one a skinny frame, the other bigger-size. They look too boring to describe about, so let’s move on.
Hmmm, down the left side of the bus, another two teenagers, slightly older, boy and girl, sitting intimately on the seats. The male’s arm is wrapped around the girl’s shoulder. She seems tired? Or upset? There’s tissue in her hand. I guess he pissed her off or something because she doesn’t seem to be reciprocating his affections towards her. Now this is interesting; as the girl gently pushed his arm away, signaling a cold response. “Cold War”, I thought. Score! Newfound target, I grinned to myself discreetly.
Next moment, he is seen trying hard to put his arm around her again, this time she pushed it away real hard. Her eyes staring over his forehead even though he’s facing her eyes on level. He whispered to her passively, seemingly trying to get her forgiveness but to no avail. Her eyes continue to stare at the bus ceiling forever, giving him a cold shoulder. “Oops, I think she caught me staring at them” I looked away immediately, thinking, “Man! People-watching can be tough”. It seems almost impossible because people can easily catch you staring at them.
Bus alight at the stop outside Thomson Plaza. I looked out of the window, people strolling in the streets, Starbucks’ business seems to be thriving, been ages since I’d been there. Back to People-Watching, numbers in the bus has reduced to less than fifteen by now as we reached Sin Ming.
I pondered about my current task, People-Watching. It’s not really easy now that I’d tried for one bus trip home. But it’s interesting, it keeps me awake on long bus rides, maybe it will become a hobby or rather time-wasting method. I laughed at the silly thought of doing this as a profession, writing for others. Last stop at the interchange, i alighted and strode home in the night.
Qtn: what would Toni do to provoke Gallant & Oih Bee Goh to an extreme action?
VERY POSSIBLE Scenario: As Toni loves to laugh A LOT, she would laugh at Gallant and Oih Bee Goh- a couple, while they are quarreling on the bus. This would cause character Gallant and Oih Bee Goh be so pissed off to the extreme. Toni had caught the laughter virus thus she cannot stop laughing. While Gallant and Oih Bee Goh were having cold war, suddenly, Toni starts to laugh very loudly at them. Gallant cannot stand it and is terribly offended, thus he stood up, walked towards Toni, slapped her on the cheek so hard that she started laughing even more. Like an insane woman. Heads start to shake, passengers in the bus sighed at the sight of such an immature act by Toni. BUT STILL, Toni cannot stop laughing! The virus is to hard to contain. Thus, Gallant and Oih Bee Goh could no longer continue to quarrel while someone is staring at them, hence they left the bus immediately. The laughter is still heard as the bus drove away…
